Deciduous, height 100cm
A gorgeous large fern, superb in naturalistic and woodland planting. It has light, fresh green foliage, especially dramatic in spring, on reddish stems. These are spore grown and have the same variability of red colour you can expect in the wild. Around our location any Lady Ferns in woodlands seem to be equal mixes of green and red stems and the red stems vary from pale to rich red. Cut back the frond in late summer to get another flush of fresh fronds. Easy to grow in moist soil in full or partial shade. Will grow in full sun if soil is consistently moist. They are drought resistant once established.
