Asplenium scolopendrium 'Cristatum' RHS AGM- Crested Hart's Tongue Fern P9
€4.95
Asplenium scolopendrium ‘Cristatum’ is a delightfully quirky form of the classic hart’s-tongue fern, reaching 30–45 cm tall and forming a tidy clump of glossy, bright-green fronds. Instead of the usual smooth leaf tips, this cultivar sports crisply crested, frilled ends.
Perfect for shady borders, woodland gardens and damp corners, it thrives in partial to full shade, moist, humus-rich soil, and a cool, sheltered spot. Once established, it’s surprisingly tough and evergreen, bringing structure and year-round interest to even the gloomiest nook.
Interesting fact: The species name scolopendrium comes from the Greek for “centipede” — a nod to the way its sori (spore lines) sit along the fronds.
Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit (RHS AGM)
