Asarum maximum ‘Ling Ling’ – a distinctive evergreen groundcover grown as much for its remarkable flowers as its foliage. Forming low, spreading clumps just 10–15 cm tall (spreading 30–45 cm over time), it carries glossy, rounded green leaves that provide a lush backdrop in shady spots.

In spring, the real intrigue begins: at soil level appear large, creamy-white flowers boldly marked with deep purple, almost porcelain-like and beautifully detailed. They’re best appreciated up close — a quiet treasure rather than a showy headline act.

Thrives in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial to full shade, making it ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or underplanting shrubs. Prefers consistent moisture and shelter from harsh sun. Low-growing, slow-spreading, and wonderfully unusual — perfect for gardeners who enjoy plants with a touch of the unexpected.
