Ajuga reptans 'Alba' P11

Ajuga reptans ‘Alba’ – White-Flowered Bugle

Ajuga reptans ‘Alba’, commonly known as White-Flowered Bugle, is a beautiful, low-growing evergreen perennial, prized for its attractive, glossy, deep green foliage and delicate spikes of pure white flowers. Appearing from May to June, the upright flower spikes rise above a dense carpet of oval-shaped leaves, providing a charming display and attracting bees and other pollinators.

Growing approximately 10–15cm tall, with flower spikes reaching 20–25cm, and spreading 50–60cm wide, this vigorous, creeping perennial thrives in partial to full shade, preferring moist, humus-rich soil. Adaptable to acidic, neutral or alkaline conditions, it also tolerates heavier clay soils and some sunshine where sufficient moisture is available.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, ground cover, banks and planting beneath trees and shrubs, ‘Alba’ spreads by rooting runners, gradually forming an attractive, weed-suppressing carpet.
